I’m Katarzyna (Catrina) Tansey, and I’m the heartbeat behind Om Spa Microblading & Cosmetic Tattoo Academy in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois. I also proudly own Om Spa Permanent Makeup and Skin Care Clinic. My life is centered around what I love most: helping people achieve their dreams, celebrating beauty, and the art of teaching.

Through these passions, I’ve been a guiding light for countless individuals on their transformative journeys through the world of beauty services, from skincare to permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing.
But my commitment goes much deeper. I’m wholeheartedly devoted to reshaping lives, careers, and financial futures by sharing my extensive knowledge of microblading, permanent makeup, and paramedical makeup along with setting up /starting up beauty business.
With over three decades of experience in the beauty industry, I don’t just teach; I actively share wisdom and knowledge to ensure others reach their goals as swiftly as possible.

My journey in the beauty industry began back in 1991, in Poland, where I graduated from Esthetic School. I also hold a diploma in Small Business and Marketing Associate. Before coming to the United States, I courageously operated two beauty salons in Poland. These ventures were launched on a shoestring budget, yet within a short span of time, I had earned the trust of over 400 loyal clients who frequented my spas regularly. I also contributed to the establishment of a government esthetic school, where I shared my wealth of esthetic knowledge because teaching is something I’m truly passionate about.
In 2005, I made a life-changing decision to move to the United States, starting fresh from scratch. It wasn’t until 2011 that I saw my dream of opening my first large storefront come to fruition. This journey was not without its challenges. At that time, my savings were modest, totaling approximately $6,000, while the project required over $20,000 to become a reality. Unfortunately, securing a bank loan was out of the question. Somehow, I managed to obtain two credit cards, which served as the steppingstones to building what you see today as my flourishing, five stars empire. Yes, it came at the cost of paying a 30% annual interest rate over a two-year period, but my determination was unwavering. I knew that if I didn’t seize the opportunity then, my dream business might never materialize. So, despite the financial challenges and overspending, I bounced back within an astonishingly short three-year period.

Throughout this remarkable journey, I learned to navigate the intricacies of licensing, insurance, choosing the right business location, and establishing efficient operational procedures, all on my own and without external assistance.

These experiences gave me a deep understanding of all facets of setting up and running a successful business, along with the closely guarded secrets, techniques, and tips of the microblading and permanent makeup industry.
